Ford didn’t make sweeping changes this year, which makes sense after the 2021 redesign and 2024 refresh, but there’s still plenty worth noting.
In August 2025, eagle-eyed Ford fans spotted a camo F-150 Lightning towing in Arizona. It wore Marsh Gray paint, and 18-inch STX wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler all-terrains. Other sightings showed Tremor-style running boards with a blue grille accent.
While there's nothing official as of yet, Ford could be testing a new off-road package or possibly a full Tremor trim for the Lightning. Nothing official yet, but with the next-gen Lightning delayed until 2028, these smaller updates could fill the gap nicely.
The F-150 has one of the most varied engine lineups in the full-size truck segment. Every option pairs with a 10-speed automatic and comes with rear- or four-wheel drive.
Here’s what’s likely under the hood for 2026:
Towing and payload stay just as strong for the new model year. A SuperCrew with the 3.5L V6 and 6.5-foot bed can tow up to 13,500 pounds, while a Regular Cab with rear-wheel drive and an 8-foot bed can haul up to 2,445 pounds.
Step inside, and the F-150’s cabin continues to feel modern and familiar. A 12-inch digital gauge cluster comes standard, showing towing data, off-road readouts, and drive modes. Right next to it, a 12-inch touchscreen runs Ford’s latest software with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto built in.
Every trim level keeps the essentials covered, but higher models layer in features like a wireless charging pad, over-the-air software updates, and an available 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. There’s also a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot and an optional head-up display that projects key information directly onto the windshield.
